Carla Bourne - Director and Lead Occupational Therapist

Carla Bourne is a dedicated Occupational Therapist who graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast. Being AuDHD, Carla has a strong passion for neuro-affirming practices, celebrating individual’s unique strengths, interests, and preferences, rather than trying to ‘fix’ them. This approach promotes self-acceptance and meaningful participation in daily life. Carla’s passion extends across a range of therapeutic interventions including parent coaching, sensory processing, motor skill development, anxiety management, school readiness, and play skills. Carla is also skilled in working with masking individuals, tailoring interventions to meet each client’s needs and empowering families to support their loved one’s growth in familiar environments. Carla endeavours to incorporate a client-centred and collaborative approach, by building strong, trusting relationships with individuals and providing evidence-based care to promote independence, and fulfilment in all areas of life.

Shani Weldhagen- Occupational Therapist

Shani Weldhagen is a dedicated Occupational Therapist committed to providing neuro-affirming, client-centred support to individuals and their families. Shani values a strengths-based approach that celebrates each person’s unique way of thinking, learning and engaging with the world. Shani takes time to build strong, trusting relationships with clients and their support networks, ensuring therapy is meaningful, enjoyable and tailored to each individual’s goals and interests. Shani has both clinical and personal experience with the neurodiverse community, supporting individuals across areas such as daily living skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation and social participation. Shani works hard to provide practical supports to all individuals she faces. She recognises that all forms of communication are valid and that behaviour is a window into a person’s needs. Shani is located on the North end of the Sunshine Coast- providing mobile services to the surrounding areas.
